The 1987 Repco Hotfoot had a smoke chrome finish. Basically a smoke candy coat sprayed over the chrome - unfortunately it doesn't stand the test of time. The finish would quickly deteriorate, blister and rust. For this BMX Restoration project I wanted to do something different. I had designed the 'Hutchfoot' decal set and was keen to use them. The frame, fork and handlebars were sprayed in gloss black. A new set of Araya style rims were relaced with black spoke nipples to GT Mohawk Hubs, and a number of new and refurbished BMX parts sourced for the build. The decals are hand finished with a chrome silver background. In 1987 Repco stopped producing their frames in the Giant factory in Taiwan, this was the end of the Hotfoot 24 BMX. The full decal set is available to view on the Decal Design page.
